| Parcelforce are a bunch of incompetent scumbags. One evening last week, when I got home from work, they had left me a letter to say that they could not deliver my parcel because of an incomplete address. Specifically, there was no house number on the parcel. And guess why that is ? Yep, it's because there's no house number for my house. The same house where they had successfully posted the letter through the letter box. You'd think, would you not, that any even half way competent delivery person would read the address of 'Farm Bungalow' at 'Farm Name', notice the bungalow about 5 yards from the big 'Farm Name' sign, and make the fairly simple addition of 2 and 2 ? Not Parcelforce though. In the letter they tell you that they will only keep your parcel for 21 days. Then they don't answer the phone for the first five of them, thus completely negating the point in having paid extra to have the thing sent 'speedy' delivery. Finally got through to them yesterday, and they claimed that the address was indeed incomplete, and lacked a farm name AND a bungalow name. They've just this minute delivered it to me at work, and I am unsurprised to note that the address is perfect. House name, farm name, hamlet name, nearest town, county, postcode, UK. Bastards.
So should any of you be planning to send a parcel, I heartily recommend you try someone other than Parcelforce. Why not give TNT a try ? In the days when I had an account with them, they used to give me small cardboard lorries full of chocolate. | comments: Leave a comment |
| Lazyness, incompetence and stupidity are all part of the hiring criteria. I have my own personal issues with CityLink. I've got dealing with them down to a fine art. Get home, call immediately to make sure they keep it aside for pick-up the next day. Call again next morning to make sure they have. Call again before I set off to make sure nobody has done anything stupid with it. I have the advantage of not living in rural mummerset though. | | (Reply) (Thread) |
| Argh, Royal Mail sucks. (unsure about parcelforce) I have about eight or so complaints in with them. Last year they failed to deliver our postal votes for the local elections (later discovered in a pile at the bottom of the road) frequently delivered someone down the road's benefit cheques to us, never answer the phone in the sorting office (which is only open 9 til 2 btw, so can't go after work), claim they've tried to deliver when I've been in (haven't rung bell) fail to leave card saying they've tried to deliver, deliver for the the next flat along, the next house along, the next road along, and tbh probably the next city along as well. Its because they sacked all the posties and replaced them with ill educated, lazy, temps.
Had bother with citilink claiming they'd tried to deliver when they quite obviously hadn't. Got me into bother on e-bay. The postal service in this country is not what it was (plus they don't deliver my mail until 3pm)-
wondering, if given the changing demographic of the uk that evening deliveries mightn't be better- more chance of getiing someone in, and not at work. we don't all have house keepers and stay at home wives to collect the mail any more, guys! | | (Reply) (Thread) |
